Learn how to cook Tuscan and Italian dishes with our Three-Day course including daily workshops in our traditional Limonaia kitchen and gastro-tours of local markets and vineyards.

Day 1:

AM – Meet & Greet Prosecco Brunch with Introduction to Chefs
Three hour cooking workshop followed by traditional Tuscan lunch at the villa.

PM – Gastro tour of historic Lucca. Depart for Lucca with one of our English speaking guides for an afternoon tour of this jewel of a walled city. Try to catch Lucca’s renowned “mercato antiquariato”, the antique market which spills into all the little alleyways and piazzas. Enjoy some of the local culinary delights available in this famed medieval city.

Aperitivi and canapes before attending the (perfectly timed at one hour) Puccini/ Verdi opera recital in the stunning Chiesa San Giovanni

Dinner after the concert at a wonderful local Trattoria, offering traditional ‘casalingo’ or ‘homemade’ cuisine.

Day 2:

AM – Early breakfast and departure for the famous Pistoia food market – a wonderful photographic opportunity as this magnificent cornucopia of plenty unfolds against the backdrop of this ancient city. Early lunch in Montecatini Terme – a famous spa town with great shopping.

PM – Return to the villa for afternoon “Hills of the North” cooking session, using the fresh ingredients purchased in the market. Enjoy the fruits of your labour with dinner at the Villa.

Day 3:

AM – Three hour ‘Dolce’ cooking workshop to learn the secrets of Italian desserts. Followed by light Tuscan lunch at the Villa prepared by your chefs. Enjoy your home-made desserts with a glass of Moscato.

PM – Tour the rolling landscape of Montecarlo, stopping at several vineyards to taste the local DOC wines of the region; said to boast the best Tuscan whites available.  Return to the Villa for a sumptuous dinner prepared by your chefs.

Day 4:

AM –  Our chefs will take you on a full day excursion to the fish markets in Viareggio, where you can purchase and taste some of the best seafood in Tuscany! If you are visiting in February or early March we can tie in this trip with the annual Carnivale di Viareggio!
Lunch will be enjoyed at leisure in one of the well known local Trattorias in Viareggio.

PM- In the afternoon you can relax beside the pool for an hour or two before beginning a class where you will learn to create delicious seafood and fish based recipes from the local region such as ‘Caccioucco’. Dinner will be enjoyed at the Villa with a crisp glass of house wine.

Day 5:

AM – The first class begins by learning how to prepare and create a variety of traditional Tuscan aperitivi. A picnic in the olive groves of Villa Michaela is planned for lunch to enjoy your perfected hand-made platters with a view.

PM – The pizza-making class begins. Learn to make pizza from scratch. Our outdoor Italian wood-burning oven will be used in the evening
to cook your “personalized” gourmet pizzas. After dinner, relax by the bonfire, and enjoy a bottle of our delicious
Villa Michaela wine.

Day 6:

AM –  Depart early for a full day’s excursion to Cinque Terre where you can wander this stunning cluster of hilltop towns with your English speaking guide. Stop for a bite to eat at a local trattoria to fuel the afternoon hike up the hills of Cinque Terre to take in breathtaking views.

PM – Finish off the day at leisure, shopping and exploring Cinque Terre before stopping for an early dinner to catch the sunset at a stunning beach side restaurant that boasts incredible views and even better food.

Day 7:

AM – Your morning is free to indulge in pure relaxation.. Spend some time wandering around the lush grounds that surround
Villa Michaela, lounge around on a sun chair by the pool, or book a massage and/or beauty treatments for yourself all onsite. Lunch will be served beside the pool.

PM – In the afternoon we will begin our Pasta Masterclass where you will learn how to make pasta from scratch as well as numerous traditional Italian pasta sauces. With a variety of ingredients and your own personal flare, you can create authentic sauces, as well as falvours as you go along. This is a fun way to try learn the beloved Italian greats of pasta and to take home the skills you’ve learned in our workshop.
Enjoy your pasta creations for a final dinner on the terrace with sunset views, with a glass or two of our Villa Michaela wine.
